COUPLES COUNSELLING
I work with couples using the Developmental Model and the framework of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and I draw on ten year's experience of facilitating workshops for couples and individuals on relationship and sexuality

Sessions cost €90 per hour
Goals and Objectives of Couples Therapy
The major aim of therapy is increasing your knowledge about yourself, your partner and the patterns of interaction between you. Therapy becomes effective as you apply new knowledge to break ineffective patterns and develop better ones.
The key tasks of couples therapy are increasing your clarity about:
-
The kind of life you want to build together
-
The kind of partner you aspire to be in order to build the kind of life and relationship you want to create
-
Your individual blocks to becoming the kind of partner you aspire to be
-
The skills and knowledge necessary to do the above tasks
In a society that values independence it can be hard to feel how much we rely on our partner for emotional stability and happiness. We are relational beings, and research has shown that people

in secure supportive relationships are healthier and live longer.

Couples Counselling helps you to
nurture connection and strengthen
emotional bonds
while honouring individuality.
The process supports you towards
feeling safe in being open, attuned
and responsive to each other.
What to Expect
The session is collaborative and respectful of the couple. I am there, not to judge, but to help you identify the cycle of reaction that is occurring in your relationship enabling you both to understand the needs and fears that are powering misunderstanding and distress. With this understanding in place the therapy moves towards interactions that nurture trust and closeness in the relationship, while valuing and honouring each person's unique individuality giving love space to grow.
